Simultaneous interpreting requires a high level of concentration and a wide range of knowledge. It is an art of communicating information while managing the demands of time. This requires superior interpreting techniques as well as a spontaneous power of judgement, teamwork in the booth, and the ability to master the pressures of tims and high-level content. Our curriculum devotes 30% of the time to consecutive interpreting which is the foundation of all other types of interpreting, and 70% to passing on skills required in 'whispering'and simultaneous interpretation at conferences. 40% of the curriculum will focus on Japanese to English skills and the remaining 60% on English to Japanese.
