At the end of this 6-month course, a student will be able to demonstrate:

* insight into expectations of Japaese patients and doctors

* the ability to manage cultural conflicts commonly seen between Japanese and north -            Americal health care cultures

* the ability to fully comprehend messages of health care providers

* the ability to interpret messages of patients and health care providers from Japanese/English to English/Japanese
